Sweet One by Cristin Harber

Sweet One
2020 audio reread

This time, I have a much deeper appreciation for this story, and fell in love all the more with Cash and Nic. It fed everything I was needing and gave everything required.

There's something special about this couple and a little catch-up novella like this is the perfect little piece of story that, thankfully, we get to enjoy.

2016 review

"You kiss like a god."
"I love you."

Swoons!!

Cristin Harber and her super secret projects! This one is another perfect surprise she dropped on her Titan fans. You can tell the depth of love she has for Cash and Nic as she just can't quite let them go!

Absolutely enjoyed getting to go back a bit in Titan time (this book chronically starts right at the end of Hart Attack) and getting to see some events through Cash and Nic's eyes as well as experiencing married life with them! The short story starts with a bang and delivers all the feels - I was crying by page 2 (oye!) and shortly after giggling, awe'ing, swooning, and growling - everything you come to expect and love from a Titan book.

While part of the conflict seemed to be a bit too easily solved (or maybe that was me missing seeing a bit more of the Titan action/adventure), it flowed well with the story and kept the focus where it needed to be - on Cash and Nic. I have a feeling a few more surprises are in store for us, because while a lot of loose ends were tied up, not quite all of them have a pretty bow on them yet. (guessing the next Titan novel - or who knows, another surprise project?) will answer these. :)

Definitely not a story to miss if you're a fan of Cash and Nic in their stories (Sweet Girl, Garrison's Creed) or Titan in general.

The Guardian by Cristin Harber

The Guardian Omgoodness, give me spicy sweetness, escape and evade scenes, secrets and truths, dimple-showing laughter, a swoony protective alpha, a sweet and strong and best friend-like leading lady —all that adds up to The Guardian. Loved every. single. stinkin'. moment of this story.

I'm so thrilled Cristin Harber took advantage of the opportunity to give us Jason and Roxane's story because it was totally worth it! I have to admit, I’ve already re-read this story and have the rest of the Aces series queued up for a reread as well because I just can't escape from a good thing.

I love coming back to the Titan world with each new piece we're given. The Guardian adds another delightful layer of glittery sprinkles to the richness of the Titan cake universe.

~~~~~~~
Oct2020 reread, single release (with added words)
The nuances stepped it up just enough to make an amazing story all that better and tighter and loved.
**originally read in the Danger and Desire anthology.
Delta Revenge by Cristin Harber
Revenge
2020 audio reread
Revisiting some past favorites makes me feel like I'm coming back home, and Delta Revenge definitely welcomed me back. I adore Javier and Sophia - the way they connected, worked through their roadblocks, and figured out what really mattered right then. And the words Javier had, when he wasn't being a dolt...swept me off my feet. I really didn't want to let go of this story the closer I got to the ending.
Oh, and Brock still rocks. ;)
Last, boy did I love hearing Jeffrey Kafer read this story to me.... he's got the voice and brought this story to life for me all over again.
~~~
2016 orig review

Javier and Sophia and all of Delta provided me with an amazing excape. From the first paragraph, Cristin Harber had me lost in Javier's history and feeling his deep wounds. Then she moved me quickly into a different world where Sophia deals with her own wounds. Watching them ride the waves of their relationship, the sweet, the struggles, the trust building, the heat - that was a wild ride. A couple extra twists and fun surprises were included that made the story all that more awesome.

This isn't a story to be missed if you are a fan of Titan or previous Delta books.

Review: Danger and Desire: A Romantic Suspense Anthology

Danger and Desire: A Romantic Suspense Anthology
The Guardian by Cristin Harber
Omgoodness, give me spicy sweetness, escape and evade scenes, secrets and truths, dimple-showing laughter, a swoony protective alpha, a sweet and strong and best friend-like leading lady - all that adds up to The Guardian. Loved every moment of this story.

I'm so thrilled Cristin Harber took advantage of the opportunity to give us Jason and Roxane's story because it was worth it! I have to admit, I’ve already re-read this story and have the rest of the Aces series queued up for a reread as well.

While you can read it as a stand alone, you'll want to read The Survivor, as that'll give you another glimpse into their story. I think you may appreciate some of the details of this story better with that basis. Besides, the Aces series is amazing and well worth the time!
Fans of the Titan series will also love this installment, what with some interesting characters showing up and points-of-view being further developed. It sure made me gasp and wanna reread some Titan books.

I love coming back to the Titan world with each new piece we're given. The Guardian adds another fun layer of glittery sprinkles to the richness of the Titan cake universe.

Lawson and Jill by Caitlyn O’Leary
Swoony perfectly sweet! I simply adored this story! Lawson and Jill were perfect together and exactly what the other needed. They both had crushing hurts to sort through and gave each other a reason to truly live again. Lawson was the best kind of bossy alpha, not too much, but just enough, and definitely all protective growly in a good way. Jill was adorable in her kind, sweet, compassion and just how real she was. Love getting to experience another piece of a Caitlyn O'Leary world. They always satisfy me and keep me coming back for more.

This is another story I’ve already reread because I didn’t want to leave it quite yet.

Night Owl by Rachel Grant
I’ve had my eye on Rachel Grant’s Evidence series for a while now, and I finally took the opportunity to try out one of her stories now. I enjoyed how she told Jenna and Brad’s story and made me want to go back and discover more of her stories. I loved how real and open and fun Jenna was, knowing what she wanted, and accepting what she was given. I loved how Brad romanced Jenna as much as he fought against himself about it, but couldn’t deny it. I have a feeling once I dive into more of these stories, I’ll appreciate Brad and Jenna all the more.

Levi by Maryann Jordan
I’ve read and enjoyed a couple of Maryann Jordan’s Lighthouse Security stories and was looking forward to seeing what we’d get with Levi and Claire’s story. Little bit of secrets, little bit of drama, lot of bit of rescue-the-girl, and the same family-got-your-back feel of the LSI team all adds up to an enjoyable little escape.

Scout by Janie Crouch
Talk about packing a punch! I've had a few book friends recommend Janie Crouch stories to me, and I finally took the chance with Scout and now I'm all about diving fully into this series! So much was packed in that I forgot I was reading a novella and totally got lost in the story. All the feels and I loved it all! I agree with Wyatt, Nadine was simply amazing and so strong and gave Wyatt exactly what he needed. Wyatt was pretty amazing in his own way, protective, caring, and all about Nadine.

I feel like I just discovered a new author that’ll end up on my favorite-go-to list with the way the words enclosed the Linear Tactical world around me -- plus, I kinda wanna find that kind of thing for real! Lol

The Rookie by Kimberly Kincaid
This is another new to me author that has come highly recommended and I was glad to try out this story (I actually found out that I’ve read one of her books long long ago, but that was it, so it’s like a re-introduction). I adored the idea behind the story and how (especially in the society/atmosphere we live in today) the hero was a cop (a true hero, imo) and it showcased how much they do and risk to protect us, to stand between us and the evil that’s out there. I loved the way the story flowed and found myself both giggling out loud at times and tensing up at the unknown. The heat between Xander and Tara steamed up the pages and added just the perfect bit of spice and expectation. This is a great beginning setup for a new series.

Desire in DC by Cat Johnson
It was fun getting to go back and read about Missy's parents getting together and seeing the reminder that our parents weren't always parents. What a fun (and for a few moments heart pounding) how I met your mother story.

Breaking Away by Elle James
Loved this story! Toss me in the middle of some action and keep it heart-pounding all the way through! I enjoyed how with this 2nd chance love story, they learned what was important and decided to make things work and allow the other to keep their current dreams alive, and embrace what the future holds. Fun twists and intense moments deliver a terrific story that I'm glad I took a chance on.

Hart Attack by Cristin Harber

Hart Attack
2020 audio reread

Hart Attack still ranks up there as one of my top favorite Titan stories, and couples. It's awesome how much the story still hits me in all the feels now even more so than originally. Loved every minute I had back with Roman and Beth and the gang.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2014 book review
Let's try a flow chart, shall we??? :)
Have you ever read a book that captured your attention and heart from the first page and then hooked you so deep you experienced everything - not just read it? And the only possible cure for the intense and instantaneous book hangover is to start over from the beginning to relive it all again?
Yes - and you love those types of stories? Then what are you waiting for??? Hurry and get Hart Attack and dive in!
No - but you want to know what that feels like? Then what are you waiting for??? Hurry and get Hart Attack and dive in!
From the beginning, I was completely drawn into the story. I *felt* for Beth and Roman. I struggled with them, I cried for them, I laughed with them, I growled with (um, and at???) them, and I swooned with them (um, you may need a fan, or an ice bucket, or something - it got pretty hot a few times). I was overwhelmed by them and I flew with them! There was no letting up - you start out on a fast paced ride and it doesn't ever slow down. There were multiple moments where I had to make myself put down the book for a minute and remember to just breathe and even wipe my tears away!!! Even in the moments where I felt growly towards their actions, as time went on and more secrets were exposed, I not only understood, but it made me love them (and the growly moments) all the more because of it.
I love how Cristin continues to bring her stories to life with her unique voice and irresistible men and women. This is an amazing and worthy addition to her Titan series.
Gambled by Cristin Harber
Gambled Brock always intrigued me, knowing he was 2nd in command - and even though he made some icky choices (not everyone is perfect and makes the smartest decisions), I could see exactly where he was coming from and he endeared himself to me even more. Loved getting to know him better in this short story. A great continuation of the Titan's saga.
_______________
Nov 2017 reread
I've forgotten just how much I loved Brock and Sarah's story. Being with them this time as they reconciled their marriage and watching how they were able to overcome the fall out from past events struck me really deeply this time. I'm thinking (even though all are favs as I read them) that Brock may have jumped up to join top ranks with my other top Titan favs. :)
Winters Heat by Cristin Harber
Winters Heat
What can I say besides I love Colby and Mia!!! From the first sentence Cristin hooked me and before I knew it I was swooning over Colby!!! The dialogue kept me entertained, the tension between the main characters kept me intrigued and the adventures kept me on the edge of my chair!! I couldn't have asked for a better alpha hero or a more perfect leading lady.
“I’m a lot of things, doll. But worried about getting hurt ain’t one of them. Now, if you don’t mind, feed me macho sh*t or shut that pretty trap of yours.”
Cristin Harber rocks with her voice and stories she shares!! I love the rough badass men and sweet strong ladies she shares with us. So far every book of hers I've read, I've loved and has found a place in my heart and on my forever favorites shelf.
The Survivor by Cristin Harber
49528360. sy475
Whew, I need a moment to catch my breath after this story!
A roller coaster ride of bountiful laughter, intriguing puzzles, and breath-twisting moments weave seamlessly together to deliver a powerful story.
Cristin Harber worked her wordsmith magic again by building a world and lulling her readers into a false sense of comfortable and then just BOOM blowing it all up and piecing it back together better than imagined - repeatedly.
Both Hagan and Amanda had histories that brought me to tears multiple times. I loved how they met and the games they played getting to know the other, even as much as their games were real and honest. I connected to Amanda with some of her fears and struggles, and admired her mix of quiet and loud strength, and battered but brave heart. Her smarts and (good) attitude shined off the page. I adored Hagan's sense of protectiveness and respect, his fierce love for his family and those in his life and his determination to dig in and get deep. I enjoyed falling in love with both of them as they fell for each other and exposed more of themselves.
Then, there's Boss Man. I think he put forth a good effort to steal the show at moments, but they were always perfect timing. The camaraderie shown within the team and Jared's own brand of tough-*ss tlc still gets to me every time. Love it!
The Survivor rocked my world, packing a powerful emotional punch, and gave me more than just a enjoyable escape. Definitely a terrific addition to the ACES series and the TITAN world in general. Reading each new story in the Titan world feels like a warm welcome home that I never want to leave.
The Protector by Cristin Harber
49092277. sy475
The Protector delivers an unforgettable story with an abundance of heart palpitations!
Going seamlessly from a war-torn desert rescue to the ritzy glamour of the rich-and-famous, you're kept on your toes and encountering all the feels. Mixing fear with hope and laughter, chaos with nuggets of truth and adventure, the hits keep coming and force the pages to keep turning.
Chance and Jane both embody so many of my favorite hero/heroine characteristics, making it easy to identify and connect with Jane and swoon and fall for Chance.
I adored how the protective theme was presented in several ways - unique spins just as each person is unique. All have the same heart and motivation, just the actions themselves are different.
There's also another theme weaved into the story that touched me deeply, and I don't want to ruin the impact of it by mentioning it fully here. Just know.... it's one we've all struggled with and need to hear the truth over and over again. And the way it was presented in this story.... pure beauty!
Chance and Jane's story is most assuredly a favorite one that I look forward to revisiting time and time again. Not only is it an excellent addition to the Aces series (which I also adore book 1), but it compliments the Titan world perfectly while still being fully stand-alone.
This is not a story to be missed; fans of military/romantic suspense will not be disappointed, and fans of Cristin Harber will be delighted to discover everything they've come to expect from her storytelling.
If you're new to Cristin Harber, this book is a perfect choice to start with.
Delta: Redemption by Cristin Harber
Delta: Redemption
5+ overwhelming beautiful swoon-y stars for this Aussie and midwest-girl Delta story!
_____
2019 audio book reread
The audio book brought a whole new life to this story, and just like the first time I experienced it, I'm still adoring this story so hard. Plus, new live experiences give a bit different perspective, and Ryder and Victoria's story hit even deeper.
Gotta love when rereads touch you just as uniquely and in a new special way.
_____
Original review.
I should have known better... prepared myself more... but no!! Even though in the back of my head I knew this was a Delta story so something's gonna happen and happen in a big way, I let myself get lulled into a place of comfort and peace despite the struggles/heartache with the first part of the story - until that moment when suddenly the floor dropped out and my happy-place was shattered and off we go on an intense roller coaster ride! I completely loved. Every. Breathstealing. Moment.
I liked loved:
1. How this story fits into the Titan timeline and how we got a taste of both some fun and easy downtime (real life) and then the adventure of work (ops).
2. How Ryder in his uncertainty still gave Victoria exactly what she needed.
3. How Victoria found her strength and stability in herself.
4. TITAN!! Everyone from Colby and Mia, to the Delta team, to Jared and Sugar, from Parker to Cash - they all were there in some way and it was awesome - whether just by their presence or by their actions or their nuggets of "pull your head out of your ***" wisdom.
5. SURPRISES!!! Loads of them! So many good ones sprinkled with shocking ones.
6. How Victoria and Ryder just WORKED -- they are perfection for each other.
7. How swoony sweet Ryder was, and still was all manly tough.
8. How strong and determined Victoria was, but still retaining her feminine vulnerability.
9. How redemption was discovered.
10. All the twists and turns and mystery and suspense and how history formed these two into what they became.
11. Surprises!! Did I mention that? Cause, there's alot there to love!
12. Being with Ryder and Victoria as they found and pursued their hea together.
I disliked:
1. That's it's *OVER* already! goodness!! As much as I want to see what happens, I hate seeing how close to the end I'm getting and maybe found some ways to slow it down a bit! haha! (good thing there's yet another awesome surprise at the end of the book to make up for it!) This is *so* going on my to-be-re-read soon list!
I love cracking open a new Titan/Delta book and getting to connect and fall in love with a new couple and live out their happily-ever-after with them, as well as reconnect with everyone else. Each book is a favorite while I'm there, but I think there's something a bit more special about this book than most of the others. It tugs on my heart-strings. It made me happy-sigh, over and over again. It gave me the omg-how-am-I-gonna-survive-this shakes. It overwhelmed me with beauty and contentment and joyous secret smiles. This is Delta. This is Titan.
The Savior by Cristin Harber
The Savior
Nov 2019 reread
I don't know exactly what it is that keeps me coming back to this story over and over again, but each time I finish I fall in love just a little bit harder and walk away with something new touching my heart, besides just soaking in the hard fought for happily ever after.
............
Omgoodness y'all. Be prepared. The Savior will capture your heart, wring it empty of every little drop of emotion, then fill it to overflowing with breath-stealing goodness!
Liam and Chelsea's story start out with their world being shattered and learning how to keep living through intense grief. Their intense pain and struggle with healing from that loss mixed with conflict from work related situations that have some scary real-life-threatening consequences just seem like it's too much to deal with, and you find yourself holding your breath waiting for the next shoe to drop.
Liam rocked my world with how much he felt, how deeply he loved, how intensely and deliberately he lived life. Chelsea won me over with her compassion, realness, devotion, and her spirit. Together they find healing, trust, and a crazy fun and treasured love.
Throw in some spec ops missions, shocking revelations, frustrating word games, and a quirky cute lesson in romance and you have a high-charged action adventure along with a captivating love story. Oh, and you can't forget the Titan-esque moments that make you secretly giddy.
Hidden within the pages of this story are several nuggets of truth and tough love and grace. They translate perfectly from the story into the reader's head, settling there and showing the beauty behind the life lessons, and hopefully sinking deep to acceptance.
I was shaken by how viscerally I reacted to this story, soaking up all the emotions and feeling like I was living their journey with them. Words have a power to them, and if allowed, can embed and overflow -- which The Savior did for me.
So, basically -- get this book, buckle in, remember to breathe, turn the page and hang on for an intense ride. You won't regret it.
Phillip by Cristin Harber
Phillip
From the moment Phillip and Ashley's eyes meet after years apart, their insta-connection with deep roots erupts back to life, blazing through past and present heartwrenching burdens to a place of healing and contentment.
Ashley struggles with breaking fully from the expectations of others and living up to impossible standards pressed upon her. Feeling her helplessness and pain, it's beautiful to watch her break her way through those chains and find herself. It's always a journey, and feels neverending, but you can see Ashley finding her way.
Phillip has his own set of burdens and pain to carry, and like Ashley, while his eyes came opened to seeing reality and the truth, it still is a long journey to healing, but one he takes on and finds a place of peace.
I adore how these two are total opposites, but yet they match up, filling up the missing parts of the other. Phillip had me melting with his pursuit of Ashley and tenacity to dig in and claim her and not let her go. Ashley had me cheering with her fight and resolve to make it through, even as much as she could also run away. I mean, who doesn't need an escape at times?
Blending some giggles with heart touching truths and sweet moments, this story delivers on all the feels, giving a sense of hope, healing and acceptance.
Savage Secrets by Cristin Harber
(Titan, #4)
Wow. I literally finished this book just a few minutes ago and was feeling totally at a loss for words on what to say.... I absolutely *LOVE* Rocco and Cat (Kitten!!) While I love all of Cristin's books in the Titan series, I'm thinking Rocco and Cat stole first place (well, at least till I re-read any of the others and they take first place till the next... haha!) in the Titan corner of my heart!
I love the beauty of how their relationship grew - some things instant, others a steady, deep growth. I love how Rocco took care of Cat and never gave up on her. I love how Cat was both a lady, but tough, but vulnerable, but kick-butt!
There was a certain moment where I felt like my heart was torn in pieces, but the beauty and healing that came from it....
Cristin - thank you for sharing Roc and Kitten with us. I am never disappointed whenever I escape into Titan world!!
What a great ending to a great series!!! I adored Gray and Emma's story from the beginning and each new chapter kept getting better and better!! This final volume kept up the same tempo and easy but yet surprising story! Cristin continued to provide twists and turns I wasn't expecting, kept giving us lots of good stuff, and kept the drama/suspense at the perfect level! Gray and Emma hold a special place on my fav shelf and I can't wait till I get to revisit them again!
Only for Him by Cristin Harber
(Only #1)
Only an excellent story-teller and talented author could take two of my not-my-ideal-storylines and make me absolutely and completely fall in love, adore what is happening, and want more! haha! It's absolutely official - Cristin Harber can write anything and I'll read it and fall in love! Granted, some characters/books may still burrow deeper than others, but she's my new KA-like author.
From the beginning, Cristin built a world that sucked me in quickly and shook my emotions up. I love seeing the sweetness of young love and the world that was weaved around Gray and Emma was beautiful! (which really displays her talent because I pass on most all high school/college aged books) I found myself looking at how far I'd gotten in the story and getting upset because the ending was coming too quickly! I wanted more! :)
Warning: This is part one of a multi part story, which means, there is a cliff hanger ending (which is one of my not-favorite things, especially if I'm caught unaware). However....... part 2 will be released very soon after part 1 so there isn't that huge of a wait (thank goodness!) And the way Cristin wrote it -- I don't think I would have wanted part one to end any other way!!
I love the mystery, drama, sweet, and heart Cristin poured into Gray and Emma! And I am on pins and needles waiting for their conclusion! You definitely don't want to pass this story up!!
Sweet Girl by Cristin Harber
(Titan, #1.5)
Oh. My. Goodness. Can Cristin Harber tell a story!!! I fell in love with Cash and Nic in Garrison's Creed and was thrilled to learn that Cristin intended on giving us a prequel to share their history.
I knew from reading Garrison's Creed that Sweet Girl wasn't going to have an HEA - we get that in GC - and because of that I was a mix of thoroughly enjoying the beginning stages of their relationship and anxiously wanting to avoid the pain I knew was coming at the end. I loved experiencing the story from both Cash and Nic's POV - and while I thought that I'd be more emotionally drawn to Cash's reaction at the end... it was Nic's actions at the end that completely gutted and crushed me! However, I'll take the pain because the beauty and the fun of the good times (and their first date!) made up for it!
Thanks, Cristin, for sharing this prequel with us!! Whether it's read after or before Garrison's Creed, Sweet Girl enhances and provides a stronger emotional depth and connection to Cash and Nic. I couldn't help but appreciate the drama and the connection between the two of them in Garrison's Creed after experiencing Sweet Girl.
(Titan, #6)
Oh my word!!!! Gotta catch my breath.... what a ride!
Parker and Lexi!! Oh my goodness!!! These two totally blew me out of the water!! I wasn't sure exactly what to expect, seeing that while Parker has been around since the beginning of the series, he was the quieter brains/tech guy behind the ops for the most part and we didn't hear a whole lot from him. There's a bit of a different feel to this story from the rest of the series -- and that's what makes this book amazing in it's own right!
[a:Cristin Harber|7192034|Cristin Harber|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1414987972p2/7192034.jpg] has yet to fail in delivering on all the emotions! She captured my attention from the beginning and provided the sweet, the heart-pounding, the heat, the tension, the tears, the comfort, the surprising twists and turns. Parker left no doubt in my mind the kind of Titan man he was, but in a more unique kind of way. And when it's time for his hackles to rise to get your attention and protect his girl - better watch out!! Lexi burrowed deep into my heart quickly with her mix of worldly innocence. They complimented each other with their differences and similarities - basically, they were simply perfect for each other! Meant to be!
You do not want to miss out on experiencing Parker and Lexi's story. It's beauty. It's Titan.
Along with the main story, there were several memorable scenes with favorite characters from previous stories - I giggled and swooned a lot with them!
Thanks Cristin for giving us readers another great Titan story!!
Only for Us by Cristin Harber
(Only, #3)
Love it!!! Love it!!! Love it!!!
Cristin Harber continues Emma and Gray's story in an excellent 3rd volume in her Only series. She left us on pins and needles from the cliffy in Only for Her and didn't fail to disappoint in picking up right where it left off in Only for Us.
There was the perfect amount of drama and emotions -- even though my heart twisted and broke several times throughout the book, the pain didn't last long and Emma and Gray worked well together to get back on the right track quickly. Towards the end, I had a feeling the cliffhanger was going to leave me super anxious for the 4th and final installment of their story. And BAM it hit and now my heart is left all twisted and anxious again! haha!
Gray and Emma's love story is about young lovers, but yet, they seem to have a older, wiser strength about them. They're quickly sealing a special place in my heart for them!!
